Aqua is the principal solvent in most emulsions, serums and ready-to-use masks, allowing water-soluble ingredients to be distributed evenly through the formula. Its role is simple but indispensable: it provides the medium in which much of the formulation can function.

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil brings a softer Mediterranean register: orchard fruit, warm stone and the cultivated landscape beyond the lagoon. In the ARTICHOKE cream, its fine plant lipids smooth and soften the skin, helping it retain comfort and suppleness without weighing the formula down.

Glycerin is a humectant, meaning that it helps hold water in the outer layers of the skin and reduces the dry, tight feeling that can follow cleansing. It is one of the most established moisturizing ingredients in cosmetics and is valued precisely because it performs this basic task so reliably.

Cetearyl Olivate is an emulsifier made from the fatty components of olive oil, allowing water and oil to form a stable, elegant cream. It connects the ingredients and leaves the skin soft and supple.

Dicaprylyl Ether is a very light emollient made in natural-cosmetic grades from fatty raw materials of vegetable origin. It gives the cream the glide and softness of an oil without leaving the dense film of a heavier butter, so nourishment need not be confused with greasiness.

Cetearyl Alcohol is a waxy fatty alcohol commonly produced from vegetable fats, quite unlike the volatile alcohol of spirits or sanitising products. It gives the cream body and stability while leaving the skin soft.

Cynara Scolymus Leaf Extract . Artichoke belongs unmistakably to the cultivated landscape of the Venetian lagoon, particularly the islands where gardens have long occupied the narrow territory between salt water and city. Its leaves are rich in polyphenols and flavonoids that help counter oxidative stress, giving the ARTICHOKE cream both its local identity and much of its protective botanical character.

Urea is one of the substances naturally present in the skin's own Natural Moisturising Factor, where it helps keep the outer layers flexible and hydrated. In a facial cream it performs the same familiar task, binding water and softening dryness rather than imposing some foreign action upon the skin.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a stable, water-soluble derivative of vitamin C used for antioxidant protection and support of a brighter, more even-looking complexion.

Sodium Hyaluronate is a molecule already present throughout human connective tissue, where its extraordinary affinity for water helps give tissues their softness and volume; cosmetic sodium hyaluronate is commonly produced through controlled microbial fermentation. Applied to the skin, it forms a moisture-rich environment at the surface, leaving it smoother, softer and visibly better hydrated.

Benzyl Alcohol is produced naturally by different plants. We use it principally as part of the preservation system, helping protect the water-containing cosmetic from microbial contamination after opening. This is one of the ingredients we use for the product to remain safe and stable during normal use.

Dehydroacetic Acid is an organic compound used in our products to inhibit the growth of microorganisms.

Kaolin is the gentler yellow clay in Lalaguna’s interpretation of the Caranto, the ancient mineral layer beneath the Venetian lagoon where Alpine sediment and Adriatic material meet. It absorbs excess surface oil while softening the stronger action of bentonite, leaving the skin cleansed without the severity of a more aggressive clay mask.

Bentonite belongs to the geological memory of the lagoon: volcanic material carried from the Alpine world and laid down in the ancient Caranto beneath Venice. In Lalaguna’s mask, its value is equally elemental: the clay swells, binds excess oil and surface impurities, and is then rinsed away, leaving the skin cleaner, calmer and more refined.

Illite belongs to the mineral language of the lagoon and helps give the Caranto mask its balanced character. It absorbs excess oil and surface impurities, while tempering the stronger action of bentonite to leave the skin clean without feeling stripped.

Thymus Vulgaris Oil comes from one of the characteristic aromatic plants of the Mediterranean landscape, concentrating its unmistakable scent in the volatile oils of its leaves. Distilled into the ARTICHOKE cream in small quantity, it lends botanical freshness and aromatic complexity to a formula whose substance remains in its oils, humectants and plant extracts.

Pinus Sylvestris Oil brings a cooler Mediterranean note: resin, dry wood and the shade of coastal pine forests after the heat of the day. In the Caranto mask, it gives the mineral clays a cleaner, more aromatic character, adding freshness without competing with the mask’s essential work.
